Clearview Clippers took the lead late and defeated Firelands 10-7 on Monday. The game was tied at seven with Clearview batting in the bottom of the sixth when Elizabeth Allen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Allen led The Clippers to victory by driving in four runs. Allen went 2-for-4 at the plate. Allen drove in runs on a home run in the third and a single in the sixth.
Firelands fired up the offense in the first inning. Rachael Rennie drove in one when Rennie singled.

Allen earned the win for Clearview. The ace surrendered three runs on two hits over three innings, striking out five.

Rennie took the loss for Firelands. The hurler allowed nine hits and ten runs over six innings, striking out four.

Hailey Reichert started the game for Clearview Clippers . Reichert surrendered four runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out two

Clearview hit one home run on the day. Allen had a long ball in the third inning.
The Clippers racked up nine hits on the day. Natali Trent and Allen managed multiple hits for Clearview. Each had two hits on the day. Clearview didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Firelands saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Rennie, Adrianna Buchanan, L Rounds, and Mandy Dewitt each racked up multiple hits for Firelands.

Clearview hosts Brookside in a Lorain County 8 showdown tomorrow at 5:00.
