OBERLIN — Brooke Rebman became the sixth player in Clearview girls basketball history to score 1,000 points in her career.  The junior accomplished the feat in the Clippers’ regular season finale, a 73-37 win at Oberlin in Lorain County League play on Wednesday night.

Clearview dominated the Phoenix from the start, outscoring Oberlin 24-9 in the first quarter.  The Clippers had built a 41-13 lead by halftime.

Rebman came into tonight’s game at 986 career points, needing 14 to cross the century mark.  Rebman led the Clippers in the first half, scoring 12 points. She scored her 1,000th career point midway through the third quarter, scoring a bucket while being fouled.  She completed the three point play and finished with 18 points, tying for game-high scoring honors.

Two Clearview seniors had big nights in their final regular season game.  Ariana Vazquez had 18 points, tying for game-high scoring honors, while LeAnna Rogers added 16.

For Oberlin, Victoria Jackson had 18 points as well, leading the Phoenix.  Markhila Holloway had 13.

Clearview finishes the regular season at 12-9 overall and 9-5 in the Lorain County League.  Thanks to Keystone’s win over Columbia tonight, Clearview finishes alone in third place in the LC8.
