SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Lorain Titans pulled away from Clearview late and defeated the Clippers, 46-42, in a close non-conference game that was the Clippers’ home finale.
Clearview opened a 7-point lead at halftime that was about the largest either side could get, as the Clippers led 24-17. Lorain rallied in the third with a 13-7 quarter, thanks to 6 points from Imani Thomas to pull within a point at 31-30.
The fourth quarter saw the game go back and forth, with teams trading the lead. Lorain put the game away in the final minute thanks to a free throw from Thomas and a bucket from Mikiya Hermon that put the Titans up four and sealed their victory.
Clearview drops to 11-8 overall. They will close the regular season with two road games this week — the first being at Norwalk on Tuesday, before finishing LC8 play at Oberlin on Wednesday.
In Junior Varsity action, Lorain defeated Clearview 47-25.
