Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball: Vazquez Career High 31 Leads Clippers Past Oberlin

SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Clearview Clippers won a sloppy game tonight against the Oberlin Phoenix 57-37 in Lorain County League action.

Clearview senior Ariana Vazquez scored a career high 31 points in the game, a bright spot in an otherwise night of struggles on the offensive end for Clearview.

Clearview struggled throughout the night on the offensive end, scoring only 21 points in the first half.  The Clippers managed 36 in the second half as their full-court pressure caused some backcourt turnovers from the Oberlin Phoenix, but the struggles in half-court offense continued through the night.

Oberlin struggled with ball control, turning the ball over 27 times in the game.  Tori Jackson led the Phoenix with 18 points in the losing cause.

Clearview improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the Lorain County League.  They are off until next Wednesday when they host Wellington in another LC8 matchup.
