Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball: Rebman Ties Season High With 27; Clippers Cruise Past Brookside

SHEFFIELD VILLAGE — Brooke Rebman was dominant, helping Clearview cruise to a 52-34 win in a PAC crossover matchup Monday night at Brookside, as the Cardinals celebrated their Senior Night.

Clearview’s pressure early in the game gave Brookside fits.  The Cardinals turned the ball over eight times in the first 4 minutes as the Clippers cruised to a quick 15-0 lead.  The Clippers never looked back.

Brooke Rebman had a dominant performance, tying her season-high with 27 points scored in tonight’s game, 23 of which she scored in the first half.  Rebman also scored 27 points in the season opener vs. Glenville on November 29.

Rebman scored 8 in the first quarter, then went on her run.  Putting on a performance like LeBron James did early in his career in the playoffs, Rebman scored 15 straight points for the Clippers, and 17 of 20, as Clearview pushed out to a 40-23 lead at halftime.

Offense went stagnant for both teams in the second half.  Clearview outscored Brookside 6-5 in the third quarter and the teams tied 6-6 in the fourth quarter.

Beyond Rebman’s 27 points, Ariana Vazquez added 10 points and Olivia Romes added 8 points.  Arriana Noble had 4 points and showed great hustle on the defensive end of the floor, giving Clearview several transition opportunities on offense to help build the lead.

Clearview improves to 10-10 overall and 8-7 in the Patriot Athletic Conference.  The Clippers close out the regular season with their final Patriot Athletic Conference game on Wednesday night at Brooklyn.

In Junior Varsity action, Brookside defeated Clearview 32-16.
