SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Buckeye Lady Bucks rolled in their final PAC visit to Clearview, defeating the Clearview Clippers 73-40 in a PAC crossover matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Buckeye’s long range shooting dominated the first half. The Bucks hit 7 three-point field goals, leading 42-25 at the half. Tatum Widenmeyer hit three in the first half, while Gabby Glancy and Sydney Bell had 2 each.
Buckeye pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Clippers 19-8 in the third quarter to lead by 28 and never looked back.
Clearview struggled to get much going on offense. Brooke Rebman led the Clippers, scoring 22 of the Clippers’ 40 points today. For Buckeye, Gabby Glancy led with 18, while Sydney Bell had 16 and Tatum Widenmeyer had 12.
Buckeye moves to 15-3 overall and 13-0 in the PAC. Combined with Wellington’s loss at Lutheran West Saturday night, Buckeye leads by two games in the loss column with three PAC games to play – well in control of their destiny for a PAC Stars Division Championship.
Clearview falls to 8-8 overall and 7-6 in the Patriot Athletic Conference. Clearview will travel to Elyria in non-conference action on Monday, before returning home for Senior Night against Fairview on Wednesday. We will also learn the Clippers tournament trail on Sunday when brackets are released for the Division II sectionals/districts hosted by Elyria High School.
In Junior Varsity action, Buckeye defeated Clearview 48-9.
