SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — The young Clearview Clippers looked dominant in a season opening win on Thursday, scoring 44 of the first 46 points en route to a dominant win over Glenville in a non-conference matchup.
Glenville did not score from the field until the second half, and the Clippers had built a forty-plus point lead by that point.
Clearview got contributions up and down the roster. Sophomore Brooke Rebman led the Clippers with 27 points, scoring 24 of those points in the first half before the Clippers took their foot off the gas pedal. Junior Ariana Vazquez added 8 points of her own. In her varsity debut, freshman Madison Pennington scored 7 off the bench. Madilyn Love added 6 as well. The Clippers put eight players in the scoring column tonight.
Sky Warith led the Tarblooders with 7 points tonight, six of which were scored in the second half.
Clearview is now 1-0 overall and will open their final season of Patriot Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon when they host the Black River Pirates. The Junior Varsity game will begin at 1 p.m. and the Varsity will follow.
The Junior Varsity Lady Clippers won their opener as well over Glenville, 26-13.
