Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Basketball: Clearview Well Represented in All Lorain-County Awards

Clearview was well represented in the 2017-2018 Girls Basketball All-Lorain County awards, announced today.  These awards are voted on by the Lorain County Coaches Association.

Two Clippers – Senior guard Brandyce Smith and freshman guard Brooke Rebman were named to the Division II first team.  Smith was named player of the year for Division II.  Smith and Rebman join Katlynn Vanzant (Brookside), Haley Sprouse (Keystone) and Maddie Colahan (Vermilion) on the first team.

The Division II second team featured sophomore guard Ariana Vazquez.  Vazquez is joined by Val Broschk (Keystone), Taylor Stefan (Keystone), Skyler Myers (Vermilion) and Clara Smith (Vermilion).

Senior post Alyzabeth Lighty was named an honorable mention in Division II.  Joining Lighty as honorable mentions were Lauren Sheehan (Brookside), Madissyn Valdez (Brookside), Emily Stewart (Firelands), Grace Baracskai (Keystone), Shelby Fortune (Keystone) and Cece Dillon (Vermilion).

Congratulations are also in order for head coach Nick Dimacchia, named coach of the year in Division II in Lorain County.
